Effective October 23, 2026. janeSoSmart operates this website and browser app from Minnesota, USA. This policy describes the current prototype and how to ask about your information.

Information we use

• Saved accounts: account contact/access records, assigned tier, preferences, garden settings and timing, saved drafts, and operational records needed to run and secure the app.
• Browser storage: local or session storage for preferences, local prototype data and pending saves. Signed-in services use session cookies. Free calculator input is not saved as an account garden.
• Requests: when the contact service is enabled, the name, email, reason, message and business details you submit, plus request status and delivery records.
• Technical records: hosting services may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and security/error logs. Our request service uses a short-lived keyed IP hash for rate limiting, not a raw IP in the request record.

Why and with whom

We use information to provide the service, save your choices, respond to requests, prevent abuse and meet applicable obligations. Hosting and email providers process information needed for those services. Authorized operators can access it for those purposes. Optional website analytics and advertising services stay off until enabled in published settings and allowed by your browser choices. The privacy settings page identifies configured services. These services may receive page URLs, device/browser/network information and cookie identifiers for measurement and advertising attribution; we do not send garden contents, account credentials or form entries through our tracking code. Social destinations and optional service providers operate under their own policies. You can keep optional services off or withdraw your choice through Website privacy choices.

Retention and security

We keep information only as needed for the purposes above, including legitimate security, support and legal requirements. Retention can vary by record and provider. We use access controls and private storage, but no system is perfectly secure. Do not send passwords, private invitation links or payment details through a form.

Cookies and browser settings

Visit Cookie and privacy settings for website storage details and optional-tracking status. These website settings do not clear your app gardens or change Jane app permissions.

Your choices and requests

Use the app privacy request form to request access or a copy, correction, deletion, or ask about retention, sharing or a privacy decision. Choose the matching reason and use your account email. We verify ownership and respond within applicable legal deadlines. Available rights and exceptions depend on where you live; if you disagree with a response, reply and ask for a review.

The account deletion page explains scope, verification and retained-record exceptions. Deletion does not itself cancel future third-party billing. Clearing browser data removes local copies but does not delete server account data. Until the public request service is connected, current testers should contact their inviter.

Privacy concerns involving children

Please do not submit personal information about children through these forms. If you believe Jane has received personal information about a child, use the privacy contact route so we can investigate and address it. While the public request service is being prepared, current testers should contact their inviter. Do not include sensitive information about the child in an initial message.

External services and changes
